PIPEFITTER JOURNEYMAN
SALARY RANGE: $25.00-$38.00 (DOE)
The Pipefitter Journeyman modifies,
installs, and tests Piping Systems on Navy Ships and other Marine Vessels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
§
Reads job specifications to accomplish
requirements
§ Ability
to read and work off blueprints
§ Ability
to accomplish Piping modifications and new installations with little
supervision
§ Accomplish
all type of testing, hydro and air
§ Experience
in bending and threading of pipe
§ Set
up all phases of Hot Work
§ Reads
job specifications to accomplish requirements
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
§ Must
follow all Safety and Company Policies
§ Ability
to accomplish testing of all systems
§ Must
have knowledge of various systems including tanks
§ Employee
must be able to properly set up brazing/cutting equipment onboard a ship
§ Able
to operate various equipment, benders/threaders etc.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
§ Must
have a minimum of 4-5 years of ship repair experience and qualifications.
§ Knowledge
of Silver Brazing procedures. Silver Brazing Certified considered for salary
range.
§ Must
be able to work in the US.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The Pipefitter Journeyman must
be able to meet and successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The
position is active and requires extensive standing, walking, sitting, bending,
kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing, and crouching. Additional demands are listed below:
§ Able
to climb ladders and work off scaffolding
§ Able
to lift, carry, and or push up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift (including
overtime)
